Built for Australian residential owner-builders

Owner build like you’ve done it before. Even if you haven’t.

Upload the residential plans you already have. Bildr works through them first, asks focused questions where details are missing or uncertain, then turns your answers into one working record for budget, quote scopes, dates, decisions and compliance.

Where control slips

Your build rarely goes off track in one dramatic moment.

It happens one missing exclusion, one unlabeled allowance, one late selection and one unrecorded decision at a time. Your plans, quotes, emails, photos and notes can each look fine while the project is still missing something important.

01 / Quote scope

The total looks clear. The exclusions do not.

Supply, labour, crane allowances, waste, access and specification differences can sit behind one neat figure.

02 / Budget confidence

The number exists. Its source is forgotten.

A written quote, an estimate and a provisional allowance should never look like the same kind of money.

03 / Dependencies

The date moves. The reason gets lost.

Selections, lead times, approvals and unfinished work can shift the sequence unless the dependency stays visible.

04 / Project records

The evidence exists. Finding it is the problem.

Photos, inspection records, approvals, variations and decisions are only useful when they can be found beside the work.

Bildr’s job is to make the uncertainty visible before you act.

It does not make the decision for you. It keeps the facts, gaps and follow-up in one place.

The part you should judge

See what Bildr found, what it could not confirm and what it asked next.

Useful AI should not hide uncertainty behind a confident answer. Bildr is designed to keep the source, the reading, the genuine gap and your confirmation connected.

Plans to project recordHow Bildr handles one uncertain detail
01 / Source

A plan page, not a blank prompt

Architectural plan A-104 shows a step between the garage and adjoining floor area.

Fictional sample / sheet A-104
02 / Reading

The fact and the uncertainty stay separate

Bildr records that a step is shown, but does not pretend the unclear dimension is readable.

Step shown / dimension needs review
03 / Focused question

It asks about the gap that matters

What level difference is specified for the garage step, and has it been confirmed with the slab detail?

Owner confirmation required
04 / Working record

Nothing important changes silently

The item remains open beside the relevant scope, budget and slab milestone until the owner confirms it.

Proposal only / no automatic cost change
Fictional example showing the intended workflow. It is not a claim that every plan detail can be read automatically. Source documents and material decisions still need review.
The Walkthrough

No two builds need the same Walkthrough.

Bildr keeps going until it has the details needed to organise your project. A straightforward build may be quick. A complex one may take several sessions.

01

Plans first

Upload the residential plans and supporting documents you already have. Bildr reads before it asks.

02

Fill what is missing

The conversation focuses on details that remain missing, uncertain or important to confirm.

03

Review the result

You check the extracted facts, estimates, allowances and proposed project structure.

04

Keep it current

Your confirmed project setup becomes the working record for quotes, costs, dates, decisions and site progress.

Built during a real owner-build

The framing total was not the useful part.

While managing his own knockdown rebuild on the NSW Central Coast, Alex found that quote totals only became useful after supply, installation, allowances and exclusions were pulled apart.

That experience shaped Bildr. The product keeps scope, source and follow-up beside the number so an owner-builder can see what still needs clarifying before making the call.

Questions worth asking

Before you trust any tool with your build.

Before you put $699 into Bildr, here is exactly what you are paying for and where its limits sit.

Who is Bildr for?
Bildr is for Australian residential owner-builders who have plans and are preparing to start, or who already have a build underway. It supports single dwellings, renovations and extensions, including complex residential work. It does not accept commercial, duplex, multi-unit or secondary-dwelling projects.
What can I see before I pay?
Create your project and upload the plans and documents you already have. Bildr starts the document review, shows you readings that need confirmation and gives you the first five tailored Walkthrough questions free. No card is required. Your progress is saved, and you decide whether the work is useful enough to continue.
Does Bildr design the house or generate plans?
No. Bildr is built to organise and track a project, not design it. It uses the plans and details you already have to help structure your budget, timeline, trade scopes, records and follow-up questions.
Why not use a spreadsheet, folders and a general AI chat?
You can, but you still have to keep the connections current yourself. Bildr is built around one residential owner-build. It keeps plan-derived facts, quote scopes, budgets, dates, decisions, compliance prompts and records connected, labels where numbers came from, and waits for your confirmation before important changes are applied.
What happens if Bildr cannot read part of my plans?
Bildr is designed to inspect the available pages and extracted detail before asking you for help. If a critical item still cannot be read with confidence, it asks a focused question instead of inventing an answer.
What happens if the AI gets something wrong?
Bildr is designed to show uncertainty instead of performing confidence. You review extracted details and confirm important changes. Budget, date, trade-scope and compliance-related updates remain proposals until you approve them. You should still verify material decisions against the source document and the right professional.
How accurate are the budget figures?
Every figure is labelled by source, such as a written quote, estimate or allowance. Bildr aims to get as close as practical using your documents and project details, but estimates are not live supplier prices or a quantity surveyor’s report. Confirm them with current written quotes before committing money.
Will Bildr change my budget or schedule automatically?
Safe clerical details can be kept current automatically. Changes to budgets, dates, trade scopes and compliance-related records are proposed for your confirmation first.
Why is the setup $699?
The setup covers the plan and document review, the adaptive Walkthrough, creation of your starting project workspace and your first 30 days of full access. It is not a blank template or a fee for five questions. You can test the initial plan-reading workflow and five tailored questions before deciding to pay.
Why does access continue at $149 per month?
An owner-build keeps changing. The monthly membership supports ongoing project-aware AI, quote checking, document and record storage, budget and timeline updates, decisions, payments, site records, maintenance and support. It is not represented as a lifetime price lock. We give at least 30 days’ notice before any increase to an existing subscription.
Can I cancel and take my information with me?
Yes. You can cancel future renewals from your account or by emailing billing support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. A free raw JSON export is available from Account settings, and the optional $99 Premium Project Pack is a manually prepared PDF and Excel export.
Does it replace my certifier, engineer or other professionals?
No. Bildr keeps project information organised and helps you spot what needs attention. Legal, structural, cost, approval and compliance decisions still need the appropriate qualified professional or authority.
What does founding membership cost?
Founding membership is $699 including GST for your plan and document review, the Walkthrough, setup of your starting project workspace and the first 30 days. Full access then continues at $149 per month including GST from day 31. It covers one active residential project. The founding offer is limited to 50 customers.
